Is it okay put yourself before others?

As women especially, mothers we tend to forget about ourselves. Now don't get me wrong our kids are important. Mine are always top priority. But what happens if I got sick or hurt or even God forbid I died, and i knew i could have prevented it or prolonged my life?

April 2016 I got my scare and decided I had to make a change, I had to take care of myself so I could be there for my kids when they need me. With having a 7 year old and a newborn at home along with working full time on graveyards I was exhausted. Trying to find time was hard. But I was able to go back to dayshifts. Now when my coach Lauren Fitzgerald had asked me about joining her. I sent her an email telling her a little bit about me and my reasons. She sent me a voice clip reminding me that I've got do this for me not for anyone else. Not just for my kids but for myself and that's when I joined her on this journey to a healthier and happier lifestyle. Yes I have fallen off the wagon a few times but got right back on. Not once do I regret my decision to put myself first. And because of my lifestyle changes I was blessed to have an uncomplicated pregnancy and a beautiful, healthy baby girl.

Ladies, there is nothing wrong with taking care of yourself, it is not selfish and will not make you a bad person. You gotta take care of yourself in order to take care of others.
